About This Journey
Tianshan Heavenly Lake (Tianchi) sits at 1,910 m on the northern slope of Bogda Peak in Fukang, Xinjiang. Known in legend as Yaochi (Jade Pool) where the Queen Mother of the West held peach banquets for immortals. This route departs from Urumqi to the Tianchi scenic area, hiking the lake circuit to visit Kazakh herder families on the eastern shore. Includes Tianchi boat cruise, Mayashan cable car, Kazakh yurt experience and dombra music. Lodging: Tianchi resort hotel + 5-star Urumqi hotel.
